Applying for a Schengen/EU visa

If you require a Schengen or European Visa, you will need to attend an appointment as part of the process. This appointment needs to be at least 15 days prior to your date of travel. Therefore obtaining a Schengen Visa upon short notice is sometimes not possible.

Depending on the nature of your trip, you may need to apply to a particular Embassy depending on how many destinations you are visiting.

You can request a visa with multiple entries but ultimately this is always at the discretion of the issuing Embassy.

For frequent tourist, business and work travellers, it can be particularly confusing and difficult to obtain the correct information regarding the category of visa you may need.

As part of the application process you must also present certain documents depending upon the category of visa you are applying for. Such documents include but are not limited to company invite letters, bank statements i.e. proof of funds and confirmed flights and accommodation.

The fee for the visa itself is payable upon the day of the appointment and is usually around £60 - £80 but can vary depending on the category of visa you are obtaining.
